Class-action Lawsuits
Class-action lawsuits are often seen in the modern day world. A known example these days is asbestos exposure lawsuits. People hire attorneys to fight for them in the lawsuit. Lawsuits are sort of when someone "sue's" someone else. Back to the example, asbestos exposure leads to mesothelioma, for which special attorneys who call themselves mesothelioma attorneys fight for those who have been affected. In a class-action lawsuit, the people are fighting for compensation and such lawyers take advantage and get their legal fees from such compensations. Often you see this on TV. They can also allow a lawsuit cash advance, which comes from a trust fund set up by companies which are being sued. There are settlement funding organizations that handle all the funding options.

Tax Attorneys
Of the many types of lawyers (or attorneys), Tax Attorneys are very important, especially this time of the year. As people start filing their tax returns, often times mistakes are made. For some it may be intentional, but to protect one's self in the court of law against the IRS, it may be wise to hire a tax attorney.
Tax attorneys for most part, in the simplest way said, do the following:
- Solve issues with the IRS
- Prevent issues from occurring
Both ways help save the taxpayer money, as issues may cause fines and such.
Starting out on your own maybe tough, but generally tax attorneys start small. They deal with individuals or small business in their "tax"- cases. Why are tax attorneys important to the everyday person? Well taxes are a part of almost everything that happens outside the home and to assist the everyday person through, tax attorneys are there.
In USA, tax attorneys are often faced with cases dealing with the IRS as it is probably one of the biggest subject areas for "tax law".

Lawyers
When someone says Law, lawyers are what first comes to mind. They assist in defending a party in the court of law. In more defined terms, lawyers are those who know the governing body's laws and help fight and protect people in various ways. In many places, to be a lawyer you must be licensed. Other words for lawyers are attorney, advocate, and even solicitor.
When a Law (a rule made by a higher power) is broken, often those who break them must present themselves infront of a judge and a jury, where their fate will be determined, this meaning whether or not they accused committed the crime or not, and if committed, what is the suitable punishment. Often times lawyer is present representing each side (the accused and accuser, often called the defendant and plaintiff). Many times, lawyers don't got to court. Their cases are settled through other means, like divorce attorneys and their clients get together and figure out a settlement instead of going to court.
Some common lawyers that are heard of would be injury lawyers (those that fight for injured on the job or another cause), divorce lawyers (representatives of two parties for a divorce settlement), or more over criminal lawyers (lawyers that fight with or against criminals). A better list of the types of lawyers would be:
- Divorce Lawyers
- Civil Lawyers
- Bankruptcy Lawyers
- Family Lawyers
- Criminal Lawyers
- Accident Lawyers
- Malpractice Lawyers
- Immigration Lawyers
- Personal Injury Lawyers
